Product Overview
Light white oil W1-40 — also called hydrocarbon cleaning agent, de-aromatised blending agent or clean chemical blending agent — is a saturated alkane solvent refined from a petroleum fraction by deep hydro-de-aromatisation. Aromatics and sulphur are reduced to very low levels and purity is held at ≥99.9%. It is a colourless, transparent liquid with only a faint odour, insoluble in water and miscible with alcohols, ethers, esters, mineral oils and most other organic solvents. Its moderate evaporation rate and strong solvency for mineral oil soils, greases and drawing oils make it effective on metal and plastic substrates with low corrosive effect.
The product is a Class 3 flammable liquid and a marine pollutant, and carries inhalation, skin irritation and reproductive and genetic toxicity hazards together with long-term toxicity to aquatic life. Handling, storage and transport therefore require strict anti-static measures, ventilation and segregation: containers sealed, warehouse temperature below 37 °C, away from ignition sources and stored separately from oxidisers.
Key Advantages
Low-Aromatic, Low-Sulphur Eco Formula
Deep hydro-de-aromatisation keeps aromatic content extremely low and odour mild, with far lower irritation than ordinary white mineral oil or kerosene solvents. It suits indoor production lines and enclosed workshops and meets Southeast Asian environmental requirements.
Balanced Oil Dissolving Power with Low Residue
Strong on stamping oils, cutting oils, rust-preventive greases and drawing oils, with a gentle, moderate evaporation rate that leaves metal parts free of oil film or water marks — well suited to batch cleaning of precision hardware and die-cast parts.
Broad Formulation Compatibility as a Multi-Use Blending Base
Can be used directly to blend metal rust-preventive oils, industrial cleaners, wood and metal coatings, printing inks and oil-phase additives for personal care. One raw material covers several downstream product families and cuts the number of items you purchase.
Direct Factory Supply with Full Export Compliance Files
Own hazardous-goods warehouse stock supports FCL, LCL and tanker shipping. Complete MSDS, COA, dangerous goods packaging certificate and commodity inspection documents are available, with professional hazardous-cargo logistics to support import customs clearance and registration in Southeast Asia.
Applications
Light white oil W1-40 is used across four core industrial areas: precision metal hydrocarbon cleaning, short-term metal rust protection, coatings and inks dilution and chemical auxiliary blending.
- Precision metal hydrocarbon cleaning — degreasing of stamped hardware, aluminium parts, stainless steel and die-cast components. Ambient immersion cleaning for bearings, precision moulds and electronic hardware, replacing high-aromatic kerosene and halogenated cleaners.
- Short-term metal rust protection — blended into in-process rust-preventive oils and stamping anti-rust additives, isolating parts from moisture and oxidation during processing and transfer while providing both lubrication and rust protection.
- Coatings and inks dilution and blending — the dedicated thinner for low-odour wood lacquers, industrial anti-corrosion coatings and flexographic printing inks, evenly adjusting evaporation rate, improving film levelling and reducing pungent odour.
- Chemical auxiliary blending — a de-aromatised base blending carrier used in the compounding of aerosols, rubber additives, pesticide oil formulations and household cleaning solvents.
