Product Overview

Cyclohexane — also called hexahydrobenzene — is a high-purity saturated alicyclic hydrocarbon. Rectification holds purity at ≥99.5% with tightly controlled benzene, impurity and water content. It is a colourless transparent liquid with a slight pungent odour, insoluble in water and infinitely miscible with ethanol, ether, acetone, aromatics and most other organic solvents. It dissolves oils, greases, resins and rubber strongly and evaporates quickly, which makes it both the key intermediate of the nylon chain and a general-purpose low-aromatic solvent.

The product is a Class 3 highly flammable liquid. It carries skin irritation, narcotic dizziness and fatal-if-inhaled hazards as well as very high toxicity to aquatic life, so handling, storage and transport must maintain anti-static protection and closed, ventilated conditions with strict segregation from oxidisers at all times.

• Nylon and chemical fibre synthesis — a core raw material oxidised to cyclohexanol and cyclohexanone for the production of adipic acid and caprolactam, the building blocks of nylon 6 and nylon 66 synthetic fibres and engineering plastics.
• Coatings, inks and rubber solvents — thinner for wood lacquers, anti-corrosion industrial coatings, printing inks and adhesives; it dissolves natural rubber, synthetic resins, asphalt and paraffin wax, adjusting evaporation rate and improving film levelling and print quality.

What payment terms do you accept?

T/T: 30% deposit, 70% balance against a copy of the Bill of Lading.
