Product Overview

This is a dedicated thinner compounded for alkyd resin systems. Several esters, alcohol ethers and halogenated solvents are blended in a scientific ratio on a fully automated proportioning and filtration line, so evaporation rate and solvency stay consistent from batch to batch and application defects such as film blushing, sagging and pinholing do not appear. The formulation avoids high-benzene raw materials, keeping VOC in line with current environmental controls, and it thins all types of one-component alkyd clear coats, pigmented topcoats and anti-rust primers for brushing, spraying and dipping alike.

Furniture manufacturing, steel structure infrastructure and automotive refinish generate steady demand, and alkyd coatings retain their mainstream position in civil and industrial painting on cost-performance grounds, so demand for the dedicated thinner remains firm. The product covers both paint dilution and cleaning of painting equipment, meeting two workshop needs with one material and simplifying purchasing and warehousing. The blended distillation range is moderate and the evaporation gradient is gentle, giving excellent levelling and film formation, and it can be stored and used in any standard explosion-proof, ventilated workshop.

Key Advantages

Compounded for Alkyd Systems, Far Fewer Application Defects

The fast-to-slow evaporation gradient matches alkyd resin precisely, so spraying and brushing rarely produce blushing, orange peel or pinholing and the film cures to an even, full gloss with less rework loss.

One Material, Two Jobs: Thinning and Cleaning

It adjusts viscosity when mixing paint and also dissolves dried residue from spray guns, brushes and screens, so a separate gun-wash solvent is unnecessary and fewer raw materials need to be stocked.

Balanced Ratio, Compatible with the Whole Alkyd Range

Suitable for wood clear coats, metal anti-rust paints, automotive refinish paints and door and window trim enamels — no need to change thinners when the paint type changes.

Standardised Batch Ratios, Stable on High-Volume Lines

An automated, closed blending line doses every component precisely, so key figures do not drift between batches and plants can run 24-hour continuous painting lines.

Applications

Alkyd paint thinner serves six distinct industrial routes: wood furniture finishing, industrial anti-corrosion for steel structures, automotive refinish, screen printing inks, painting-tool cleaning and light-duty adhesive blending.

  • Wood furniture finishing — a dedicated thinner for alkyd clear and pigmented coats on solid wood furniture, doors, windows and cabinets; it improves flow and levelling and keeps the grain bright and clear.
  • Industrial anti-corrosion for steel structures — thins alkyd anti-rust primers and topcoats for towers, guardrails and machinery, improving film adhesion and outdoor weather resistance.
  • Automotive refinish — blends alkyd refinish paint for metal parts and bumpers at repair shops; it sprays evenly without runs and keeps colour mismatch during repair to a minimum.
  • Screen printing inks — a wash thinner for alkyd-type metal and plastic screen inks; pigment dispersion stays stable and printed patterns remain sharp without blocking the screen.
