Zhengxin Chemical Upgrades to Scan-Operated Automatic Filling

Equipment Upgrade in the Filling Area
The filling area has been upgraded this year with the introduction of a scan-operated automatic filling system. The change is aimed at improving filling precision and operating efficiency at the point where product leaves bulk storage and is packed into drums for dispatch.
How the Scan-Operated Filling System Works
- The operator enters the order information for the batch to be filled
- The barcode is scanned to start the filling sequence for that order
- The system controls the filling volume automatically, according to the recorded order data
- Staff complete the auxiliary steps, including drum placement, drum sealing and inspection

- Filling specification is held more consistently from one batch to the next
- Manual error in volume control is reduced, because the fill quantity comes from the order record
- Operating efficiency at the filling area is improved, which supports faster dispatch
- The recorded order data gives a clearer link between each order and the drums filled against it
- Multi-specification drum orders can be handled within the same production schedule
Supporting Multi-Size Drum Orders
Filling specifications differ between customers, and export orders in particular often combine several drum sizes in one shipment. Controlling the fill volume from scanned order data makes it simpler to move between specifications during a production run and to keep each order consistent with what the buyer specified. The auxiliary steps, such as drum placement, sealing and inspection, remain in the hands of trained staff, so the packed goods are still checked by hand before they leave the filling area.
Ongoing Improvements
The upgrade forms part of continuing work to keep filling operations accurate and dispatch dependable, and to meet the multi-specification, drum-packed requirements of customers in different markets. Further improvements to the filling and packing area will be considered as order patterns develop.
